Common Error Messages

ERROR: File size exceeds maximum limit

Error Code: FILE_TOO_LARGE

What this means:

Your file is larger than our 10 MB limit. Large files usually contain high-resolution images or excessive formatting.

How to fix it:

  1. 1. Compress the PDF: Use online tools like SmallPDF or Adobe's compression feature
  2. 2. Remove images: Delete unnecessary graphics, logos, or photos
  3. 3. Save as "Reduced Size": In your PDF reader, choose File → Save As → Reduced Size PDF
  4. 4. Convert to text: Copy content to a text editor and save as .txt for smallest size

Pro tip: Aim for files under 5 MB for fastest processing.

ERROR: Unsupported file format

Error Code: INVALID_FORMAT

What this means:

The file type you uploaded isn't supported. We accept PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, and RTF files only.

How to fix it:

From Word processors:
  • • File → Save As → PDF
  • • File → Export → Create PDF
  • • Print → Save as PDF
From other formats:
  • • Google Docs → Download as PDF
  • • Pages → Export to → PDF
  • • Online converters for other types

Note: Image files (JPG, PNG) need to be converted to PDF first.

ERROR: Document processing failed

Error Code: PROCESSING_FAILED

What this means:

The AI couldn't extract or process the content from your document. This usually happens with corrupted files or special document types.

Common causes & solutions:

Password-protected file

Remove password protection before uploading

Scanned image without text

Ensure PDF has selectable text, not just images

Corrupted file

Try opening locally, then "Save As" to create fresh copy

Complex formatting

Simplify layout, remove tables/graphics, try again

ERROR: No text content found

Error Code: NO_TEXT_CONTENT

What this means:

The document appears to be an image or scan without extractable text content.

How to fix it:

  1. 1.
    Check if text is selectable:

Open the PDF and try to highlight text. If you can't, it's an image.

  2. 2.
    Use OCR (Optical Character Recognition):
    • • Adobe Acrobat: Tools → Scan & OCR
    • • Free online: OCR2PDF, SmallPDF OCR
    • • Google Drive: Open with Google Docs
  3. 3.
    Recreate the document:

Type or paste the content into a new document
